1. This information can be checked and is correct, so it is a fact.
2. The text says that Dan was the writer’s older brother, so it is a fact
3.     Again, this information can be checked and is a fact.
4. It is possible that this could be true, but it is a matter of opinion as to how many people make up a ‘huge number’   

2. Which statement has both a fact and opinion?

1. The writer’s team didn’t make it to the grand final
2. The writer’s coach thought the stand might collapse
3.    The grand final was on Saturday 8 March, a day the writer thought might never come
4. Dan was captain and received the best player award in the game

Choosing the best answer

1. This statement has information that can be checked to be a fact. The writer’s team lost in the semifinal. It is not the best answer
2. The statement gives an opinion. It is not the best answer
3.    It is a fact the grand final was held on that day. It is the writer’s opinion that he thought it would never come. It seems to be a very good answer, but all answers needed to be checked before making a decision.
4. This statement has two pieces of information that can be checked to be facts. It is not the best answer.

Here is my reading task from yesterday. I didn't have the time to finish it, but today I did. We read an article about a basketball game the teams was the Redbacks and the Tigers. It was a close game but in the end the Redbacks won. The writer's team lost in the semifinal but his brother Dan and his team made it into the finals. Dan was the captain of his team and received player of the day.

Stay At School During Swim Time

Today I didn't participate in our swimming programme... I ended up staying behind with other students who didn't go. Our activity was... WORK SHEETS!, We did work the old way, using pen and paper. It didn't turn out too bad, the only thing was GIRLS! This girl Petra was sort of annoying because she always sat next to me and Marcus, putting us off task. Our swimming programme runs for 2 weeks! We swim for the whole 2 week, everyday!

Persuasive Writing For

  Am I against drinking fizzy drinks or not?

I am not against fizzy drinks because…

There are many varieties of flavours to choose from! Drinking the same flavour of drink over and over again could get you out of drinking fizzy. Flavour’s like Coke, Mountain Dew, Pepsi, Fanta, and Sprite are flavours that people around the world buy. But let’s say if you're always bought Coke, you would soon get rid of drinking that flavour and would soon buy a different flavour like Sprite.

You should also drink fizzy because it tastes, DELICIOUS. When I drink fizzy I feel calm and refreshed! After a hard day at school drinking fizzy will help me calm down and sometimes go crazy.

My final reason why is because drinking fizzy can REFRESH you! On a hot day, the only thing you would want is a refreshing bottle of water or fizzy. Once you take a gulp of freezing liquid, you would want to be begging for more!

Am I against drinking fizzy drinks or not?

I am against drinking fizzy drinks because it contains too much Caffeine inside them. Did you know Caffeine is a drug? Drinking too much Caffeine can damage your brain and it’s ability to send connections around your body. It can also affect your kidney, did you know your Kidney cleans your blood? So too much Caffeine can put your Kidney’s out of control!

Another reason why is because fizzy drinks can increase your risk of cancer. Some people say it can’t but drinking too much fizzy a day is risky, maintaining a healthy diet, and not drinking too much fizzy will help your lower the risk of cancer,

My final reason why is because they can change the functioning of your brain. Your brain is the main organ inside your body. Without your brain you can’t move anything in your body. Your brain sends connections all over your body which gives you the ability to move using your nervous system.

I am against drinking fizzy, our task was to give three reasons why on both sides, For and Against. Did you know that fizzy contains loads of Caffeine? Wow, I didn't know too.

Leadership Meeting Experience.

Today we got called out of our Attitude Program Lesson to go down to our Leadership Programme. In our programme we always start of with our highlights and lowlights of the week. After that we got into partners and had to talk about something to the other leaders. My partner was Amelia, we were talking about Bullying, Bullying isn't good. People bully for fame, or basically just do it for fun. I know this because I have been bullied before. 11
