Yesterday the it was Athletics day.
First I saw a combination of colours marching around the field singing chants like soldiers getting ready for war and brightly coloured fireworks blooming in the sky. The colours then sat down under the decorated gazebos waiting for their moment to shine, like a flower blooming. I then saw the first lot of kids shining as they zoomed past our gazebos heading for their destination. Parents and teachers jumping with joy.
I could hear the rumbling sound as the team's sang their chants with anger and battled for the No.1 spot. The teachers then gave 100 points to the winning house Tobruk. I could hear people around me whispering BOO BOO. ‘Talk about sportsmanship’ I thought. I cheered them on as the settles down and waiting for the next race to begin. As the following race finished it was time for mine…….
I felt nervous as my year level got up to race, we reached the start line and got into positions like lions ready to end the lives of their prey. ‘Take your mark , get set Go!’ I could hear my house cheering on for me , in the end I came 2nd which is a good spot. When I got back to my house I got and handshake and a pat on the back.
I could taste the freshly cut grass as I picked up the rubbish off the floor. I could also taste the burnt sausage as I took a bite, it tasted disgusting but I managed to eat it all. I could also taste the freezing cold ice block juice dribble down my throat.
I could smell the cut grass as I ran and stomped on it. I could also smell the perfume on Mrs kelly as I went to check in my spot.
I was then exhausted at the end of the day. It was blazing hot , it was fun , funny and sad.
It was the best athletics day ever.
