Blues sensational win over LIONS!

IALT: Write about the Auckland Blues beating the British and Irish Lion.

The Auckland Blues have managed to overcome the Lions and pull of a sensational win. They were, drifting out of the game because their scrum was being destroyed and the Lions were slowly grinding them to defeat and wham! Four bits of individual brilliance and they managed to pull of the historical win. Michael Collins managed to take a miracle high ball take, Steven Luatua flipped one offload, Sonny Bill Williams went 40 metres to offload again and then Ihaia West dazzled his way to the tryline. Maybe it was the try of the season for the Blues, they have left the Lions teetering on the brink of collapse, it is only the second game of the Lions tour and this is their first loss, not a good sign for the Lions, they need to bring their A-Game.

But the Lions were way better in this game then in the first, there was more urgency and accuracy in everything they did and while they didn't get much beyond playing Warrenball, they didn't feel they needed to. The Lions were able to get momentum by relying on the directness and brutality of their ball carriers.

What are my thoughts on this article?

Well, I always knew the Blues would beat the Lions, but I never thought they would be beaten by this much of a margin. The Blues season this year hasn't been too good, Playing 14 games and losing 7. This win over the Lions will give them a good reputation and show other teams that they do have the potential to be better then they are now. Rieko Ioane scored the first try in the 6th minute, then just after the half time siren went, Sonny Bill Williams managed to score another try! After it rebounded off the goal post.

The Blues deserved this win, the Lions need to step up as it is only their 2nd game of their tour. They almost lost to the NZ Provincial Barbarians, with their 13-7 win over them.

Patrick Tuipulotu DROPPED From Blues Squad

IALT: Write about Patrick Tuipulotu being dropped from the Blues Squad after being late to training.

Blues Lock Patrick Tuipulotu has missed his chance to show in the Blues vs Lions game tonight. He failed to contact Blues Management that he was going to be late to training at their Alexandra Park Headquarters on Monday. The failure to make the starting line-up ahead of Gerald Cowley Tuioti and Scott Scrafton itself raised eyebrows. Tuipulotu place was replaced by Jimmy Tupou after what has been described by the Blues as a breach of team protocol, would have added significant impact from the bench, but coach Umaga clearly decided the 24-year-old didn't have the consistency in form needed to displace either Cowley-Tuioti or Scrafton.

This isn't his first time Tuipulotu has found himself at odds with the Blues management this year. But whatever reasons behind his breach, the fact that he won't get a chance to play in this unique match, and stamp his own name in History, will be hugely disappointing to himself and Umaga.

For me I think that this is a clear example of a person not looking ahead of themselves, and not being able to be responsible for their actions. In my class we have been learning about Responsibility, Honesty and Integrity, this is a good example for Responsibility. If I were this person I wouldn't be too ashamed but let this be a lesson to contact if your going to be late and always try and make an effort to turn up to training early. The Blues squad will look different with Patrick, when he is at his best he is a dangerous  ball carrier and defender.
