KiwiCan Reflection

IALT: Write about what I learnt during Kiwi Can.

So this week for Kiwi Can Mr Malu finally returned to come and help Ms Lily teach us. To be honest, I think Mr Malu makes Kiwi Can more interesting and fun. I don't know how to explain why but he just does because when he wasn't around Kiwi Can didn't feel the same. It's like when one of us isn't around, the whole team doesn't feel the same. Anyways, the thing I liked the most when we were in Kiwi Can was our Energiser, we had to find a buddy and come up with our own handshake.

I was with Kiko , and we only had 5 minutes to come up with our own handshake. At first, I thought we had it all, easy. But then it got more intense as Mr Malu counted down. In the end we didn't really have much but still showcased what we came up with. Something I learnt during that energiser was that it is important to accept everyone's idea, because it might be valuable in the end.

Then we moved onto our new topic for this week, which is 'Dealing With Challenges' I myself, face challenges daily and most of the times I can find a solution for it. Something I learnt during this part was getting honest opinions from everyone who answered. Some of them, had challenges I didn't know they faced. But when your having fun, time flies and that's exactly what happened.

Kiwi Can Reflection

IALT: Write about what I learnt during Kiwi Can.

This week for Kiwi Can we didn't have Mr Malu come in which was a shame, but Ms Lily always knew how to keep the balance in between our class. Like any other lesson we got straight into it, first going over what we learnt from the past weeks, and then moving onto the Energiser. The Energiser was fun, I enjoyed trying to block the ball from going in between my legs and trying to get the other people out.

I didn't care who was out because I was only focused on keeping myself in. At the end of that Energiser I could tell that everyone was up and ready to learn. Going over the theme for this term I liked the way everyone participated in answering the questions, but most of the times everyone didn't know the answer.

Going into the last 10 minutes of the session, I really thought about what I learnt. I learnt that you have the ability to make your own choices and control your emotions under any situation. At times I can control the way I feel but if someone goes over the top I get angry and physically act.

Kiwi Can Reflection

IALT: Write about what I learnt during Kiwi Can.

Yesterday for Kiwi Can, Mr Malu was absent again which was sad but at least we still had Kiwi Can. From revising what we had learnt from last week, to learning something new this week, I myself thought that this week was similar to last week. To be honest, Kiwi Can wasn't as fun and energising this week, and I think this because usually when we walk in the Kiwi Can leaders, always make up something that we laugh too, or are always enthusiastic to see us. But I don't blame Ms Lily because she was on her own, and she was still learning from her mistakes, and it's not east teaching a class you know little about.

Anyways, we are learning about Self Control and Emotions. Both are related, because well you have to control the way you feel under pressure. For example, getting persuaded by your friends to do the wrong thing, or just overreacting to something that you know nothing about! For me, I think a way I can control my emotions is doing my hobbies, I can enjoy doing what I love and forget about anything negative on my mind.

I hope that next week, Mr Malu will return again. But this week wasn't as fun as I hoped it would be. I mean the games were fun but it seemed as if we were learning the same thing again. But I appreciate the work and hard effort Ms Lily does just for our school.

Kiwi Can Reflection

IALT: Write about what my class did and learnt during the time we were at Kiwi Can.

The start of Kiwi Can wasn't too good for me, I had a little prep talk along with some other boys about keeping on track, and remembering that each and every one of us have a role to play in our classroom. This little prep talk was just enough to make us miss out the Intro of Kiwi Can. Something I learnt from that situation is that I must always be a leader not just sometimes but consistently, and setting a prime example when it comes to learning in a different environment. Re uniting with the class again, Mr Malu had already some some critical things that I missed.

The only thing I heard was the Energiser, I felt 'stink' as I wasn't in there to hear some things we were going to be learning today. So I stepped up my act and soon rather then later I was back into being the leader I was meant to be. The Energiser was funny and hard because he had to try and get flat balls into a bucket, which made us get points in the different groups we were in.
For me, I rolled it up and found it that it didn't curve and go the other way but it went straight ahead, that's something I learnt.

We had the lead, but it wasn't until we had to create our own Chants. My team the 'FUNKY MONKEYS' Didn't have the time , well we made one up, I didn't know because one of the other boys decided not to say it out loud because he was scared of being embarrassed. I didn't blame him, if that were me I wouldn't do it either, even if it cost us our lead.

The highlight of this lesson for me would be the Activity, TEAMWORK was involved that helped us gain possession of the game , and regain our lead. But some of the people didn't mind about others and decided to cheat. It wasn't our group so I didn't do much about it. Then Rugby happened, 2 teams merged to form one, and that's where the real fun began. Rugby is one of my favourite sports, so I took it up hard and did some pretty hard tackles, sometimes hurting myself in the process.

People that stood out to me was those who didn't really play, like LJ, Vunivalu, Timeus and Alo. They had some pretty mean hidden talents, so we all told them to come and play. There we looked like a real team with the potential to win many great things.

At the end of the day, it was fun. I learnt something from the lesson and my teacher.
Something challenging I came across was controlling how I felt when people cheated, it made me angry that they would want to ruin the game.
