Fitness Team Practise And Organising

IALT: Work with my team to come up with our final design to show our parents.

Today we had another practise and to finish up on any work we had, to prepare for our Food Tasting Festival tomorrow night. For the whole day we worked in our groups, both learning from each other and asking each other what we could do better. I was in charge of the asking the questions to the parents because the thing we chose to display our work of fitness was 'Fitness Feud' where like Family Feud , asking questions and all but not getting a car as a prize and 5,000 dollars.

Working together with not only my class peers, but also with my peers from Room 10. It was great because that way I could see how we learn in our different classes, then I worked on a quote that would be displayed in our class room wall where everyone would see it. I put in a lot of effort into it but I wasn't alone, I worked with Sifa and Kauri who are great to work with and don't play around when it's time to work, those are the kind of students I like to work with.

The quote we wrote was this one:

For me I think this is a great quote because it's true, it's not about being better then someone else but trying to be better then who you used to be. As a young fit child I am continuing to grow and develop more muscle for when I move onto college next year. It's going to hard, but I don't want to be the smallest kid in class. I didn't pick the quote but this is the quote I will look to when I do fitness as it will help me to do more.

A challenge I found was when we had to start all over again, because it was a waste of time. I know that it is good to work with other people because you can learn from them.

Feel free to leave a comment.
Many thanks :)

Jeff Horn Upsets Manny Pacquiao in Unanimous Decision

IALA: The fight that left Manny Pacquiao heartbroken and beaten.

My Opinion based about the fight between Pacquiao and Horn.

Did Jeff Horn really deserve to win against Filipino legend Manny Pacquiao? Horn walked away with the biggest scalp of his boxing career, claiming the WBO welterweight weight after his win. But he didn't look like a winner as he emerged from celebrations on Monday. He has looked like he has been attacked by a mob of attackers, disagreeing on the win he had over Manny, which was very upsetting. While fighting at Suncorp Stadium, both went through the rough twelve rounds , the intensity of the fight was like nothing I have ever seen, it looked like a movie role play, where one was to reign higher over the other.

Both fighters in action
Out of both men, Horn was left the most battered, bloody and broken. The Filipino legend managed to land 183 punches to the face of Horn during the twelve round, which to me was very extraordinary as at the age of 38 he still has some experience and a lot of power hidden behind the gloves of his.  What were the judges thinking? The referee would've stopped the fight if Horn didn't show any stabilisation, telling him to step up or else he would've stopped the fight.Image result for jeff horn vs manny
He didn't want to lose to Manny and so he did, although I didn't think it was enough to beat an experienced fighter. Want to see what getting punched by 182 punches looks like? Well take a look :

By just looking at the state of his face, I myself don't want to get into a fight like this one. He might be at risk of losing his right eye if he doesn't protect himself enough. Two big hands by Manny didn't put the Australian on the floor, which was surprising but he didn't stop and kept going. I feel sorry for Manny as his coach told him if he lost another fight he would encourage him to retire, the long time world champion Manny might be retiring soon.

This is a mistake and clearly Manny deserved the win:

A challenge I found was reading that Horn won when it should've been Manny, clearly something was wrong but now it's time to move on, Manny lost and that's something that everyone goes through, losing.

Feel free to leave a comment to help me improve in my opinion writing about articles.
Who do you think won?
Many thanks :)

Sonny Bill Williams Banned For Four Weeks

IALA: The consequence for Sonny Bill Williams after committing an illegal act during the second test between the All Blacks and the British and Irish Lions.
Sonny Bill Williams faces media after being banned for four weeks.
Sonny Bill Williams faces media after being banned for four weeks.
Did you watch the second test match between the All Blacks and the British and Irish Lions? If you have then you'll know what I am talking about. On the 25th minute throughout the game, Sonny Bill Williams committed an illegal act on trying to tackles Lions winger Anthony Watson, Sonny went flying for the tackle but accidentally used his shoulder which then collided with his head, not putting him in danger but Watson in danger as he could suffer brain injuries.

He had two options, to go for a yellow card or a red. He chose red and there's nothing you can do about it. Last night he approved of being banned for four weeks but is happy that he got to say his part, luckily it wasn't four months. He ha also got in contact with Watson and apologised. His spot is left, but Malakai Fekitoa could play on Saturday after being orignally being omitted from the All Blacks squad named in June, as the Lions chase a first series win in New Zealand since 1971.

Former Ireland lock Neil Francis believes the Lions' victory in the second test has shifted the momentum in their favour, and left All Blacks coach Steve Hansen with a "bloodied nose" after "clowning around" with Lions counterpart Warren Gatland. "It is easy to argue that [Ryan] Crotty and [Anton] Lienert-Brown ought to have started that match or, put another way, that Hansen may be guilty of showing too much loyalty to Williams," he wrote.
Malakai Fekitoa could start the third test.

His absence in Auckland, however, may prove to be to Hansen's benefit."
Fekitoa starred in the Highlanders' 23-22 victory over the Lions in Dunedin and Meager added: "He demonstrated what a handful he can be. Laumape, meanwhile, caused the Lions considerable problems in both his outings against the tourists in Wellington while Crotty has an undervalued calming influence whenever he plays for New Zealand. The All Blacks, playing with 14 men for the remaining 55 minutes, looked like they were still going to think their way through this game and cope defensively with what was thrown at them.

Williams is gutted, not only because he is banned but because he let his brothers down. It is true to say that with a man down you can expect to concede seven or eight points in his absence. It is quite an advantage to play with 14 men yet you get figured that the All Blacks would manage it.
Ryan Crotty was injured in the first test.

It's going to be an awesome third test and I can't wait. But in the absence of a key players, what will the All Blacks come up with this time? If I were to interview SBW I would ask him "What were you trying to do to Watson went you went for him?"

Many thanks :P

Never Leave A Baby Unattended

IALA: A baby left unattended in a car, at the car park of a shopping mall.

Loud cries alerted the passenger that something was wrong. It was a newborn baby who was left locked in a car in a Countdown supermarket car park in Hamilton this morning. A Police media spokesperson confirmed they received two calls  about a baby aged between 0 to 5 months being left in the car park , and were attempting to make contact with the owner. As scary as this case might seem, you would want to share this online right? Well, a shopper posted the photo of the baby on social media in the capsule with the plastic rain cover and was shocked and wanted to show how dangerous leaving a child in a  car could be.

The post has since been removed following comments of both outrage and support for the mother.
The shopper, who did not want to be named over fear of publish backlash, told the Herald she was walking back to her car when she heard the baby crying at about 11.25AM. It was a horrifying situation as she had need access to anything that was open, everything was locked giving no air for the baby and potentially distressing it.

"It was screaming and that's what made me look over. I put my face up against all the windows in the car and was like holy crap there's no one in this car and the baby is by itself".

The woman who had her own child with her, dashed back to the supermarket staff and asked for immediate assistance. They acted really well, and did everything they could. A woman put an announcement over the loud speakers for any shopper that owned the baby, and the car. Trying doors and windows weren't a success so she started banging on the windows, to distract the baby and stop it from getting too hot.

The baby was crying the entire time, with 8 people gathered around including staff. About 10 minuted later the mother emerged with shopping bags. The woman did not know how long the baby had been left for before she heard it.

"She just walked out and saw that everyone was around her. I think she got quite embarrassed and I just had my hand over my mouth because I was in absolute shock and she unlocked the car and opened up the back door and pulled the cover off the baby.

When she got back into the car, the baby's face was red and the collar was all wet, not from sweat but from all it's tears. The baby started to calm down and the mother touched it's tummy. She had said she just go tout of hospital, that's why she posted up the photo so she could get help for the woman. Never leave a child in the car alone... Not even for one minute.

A question I have for the woman is.. Why would you leave your child unattended? I don't understand because he was so young and she didn't stop to think about her baby. Although she just got out of hospital, I can understand that.

Many thanks :)

Fitness At Home

IALT: Carry on with my fitness at home.

Today after school I started off my first fitness at home programme, where I could carry on doing exercise at home, while alone and with more complex exercise and equipment. At first I was alone, work on a machine where it could help my biceps, triceps, forearms, and shoulders to start really showing. Each block weighed about 5-10 kg, I could be able to life 5 of them, meaning I was lifting 50 kilograms or 25 kilograms, all in which made my shoulders sore as I moved onto the next exercise. I went onto the boxing bag, where I would pretend I was in a real fight, throwing all sorts of different punches, hooks, uppercuts, jabs and right hands.

It was a hard time with my muscles aching , but I still carried on because I knew it was working as the pain was starting to kick in. Another piece of equipment, was one where it was like you were rowing, this worked on my arms and shoulders. It felt like I was actually in a raft rowing, it took me about 250 rows to stop me from doing anymore as my shoulders didn't want to do anymore.

I didn't want to give up, because if I did all the effort I put into working hard will be gone. A challenge I found throughout the workouts was going non stop for 10 minutes, the hardest was the weight lifting section. I think this is the best one because it helps strengthen your arms, and it really does work. I was only for about 5 minutes until I started to sweat, I don't like sweating because I don't smell too good but I was going to go for a shower after fitness anyways.

I am going to carry on with it throughout the holidays and when I move onto college. Fitness can change how I look because all the excess fat will be removed and pure muscle will be showing. It's going to be hard but I know I am going to make it because I have a heart keen for challenges.

Many thanks :P

Is TRUMP your favourite word?

IALA: The word 'Trump' named children's word of the year.

According to the statistical investigation led by the Oxford University Press, 'Trump' is children's "word of the year" The US president's name saw 839% increase in usage across 130,000 stories submitted by school children for BBC Radio 2's annual writing competition. Other popular words were 'Brexit' and 'fake news' in stories from children aged 5 to thirteen, which is a spectacular find because  the word 'Brexit' isn't commonly used in our country New Zealand. If I were to choose a word we Kiwi's use, it should be 'Cuhz' and 'Bro' both of these words are commonly used in my area.
"According to the judges ‘Trump’ is mentioned in a wide variety of contexts, from the US elections and politics, to tales of space, aliens and superheroes, giving expression to children's creativity, playfulness and humour" For me I think this is very unusual because in the past two years other word's of the year were 'refugees' and 'Hashtag' all in which I am familiar with and have a clear understanding. But I have a question, was the survey only for students in America? Or across the globe.

If it were only in America, I am very shocked because 839% is a lot, and well more then the children we have here in New Zealand. This article, is very unique because I myself didn't want Trump to be president because well his past determined his future, but no one is perfect so therefore everyone makes mistakes, in which we can learn from them.

But at the same time it is great to hear about this , and I think this is very hilarious. Not only is Trump a famous name, but it is the last name of the current USA president. As of today, my next learning steps is too use more thinking skills to add in more about a situation or act.
