Technology Reflection

I am learning to write about what I did during my time at Technology.

At Technology today, I moved on from using the internet and I am now working on drawing my clock design on paper, and starting to draw the joints that connect both parts. I have decided to make a clock in the shape of a rugby shield, because it is easy, efficient and saves a lot of time. My first thought of this, was that I thought it was going to be boring, because it was going to made of paper, well the outside part. I didn't actually think that it was going to be made out of paper, but once Mrs Ferguson said we are going to cut the middle and insert the middle part of the clock that holds the numbers and hands. I was a little eager to find out what I was going to make and see what kind of challenges I was going to go through. But today I stumbled across a challenge, I finished drawing my designs showed Mrs Ferguson, and I didn't quite get the part where she said to draw the joints. I sat there for about 5 minutes until I had the courage, she told me and I thought that if I didn't ask her for help, I would have still sat there looking completely lost. I was really excited because first I was making a clock in the shape of a shield and secondly, I was creating it for myself! I hope that next week I will be able to finish drawing and be onto cutting the middle and inserting a real thing, nothing that is made of paper. I didn't have the time to take a photo and show evidence of my work, but my goal for next week is to take a photo and show the whole world that I am capable of completing something I have never done before.

Something I found challenging was first trying to remember what Mrs Ferguson said to me after I finished my drawing. My next steps in learning is to remember, and think hard and critically.

Technology Reflection

IALT: Write about my Technology reflection.

Technology today was different, we moved from a dangerous environment, to one where nothing could harm you. Ms Ferguson, was our new Technology group teacher. I had been in her class the year before, but today we were working on something different. Last year we made a piece of jewellery for a client, this year we were told to do clocks. In my honest opinion, I didn't really like what we were working on but at least we had something to do. Walking in class, I was eager to learn about what we were doing.
It might not look like much, but I reckon after 10 weeks in that class, we will make something pretty unique. Clocks are needed in our daily lives because they help us keep track of time, and run on time for anything. I chose to do it for myself, the reason for this is because as a growing child I need my own things for when I need it, like waking up for school, and getting the right amount of sleep each day.

I hope that next week I can move on from Drawings, to creating the actual thing.
I enjoyed working together with my peers during this time because they helped me when I need help.

Technology Clock Project (My Likes)

IALT: To put down some pictures on what I like.

This is another one of my projects for Technology. For this task I was told to put down pictures on what I like, since I was creating a clock for myself. This task was easy as I already knew what I like and just had to add in what it was and pictures.

Technology Clock Project

IALT: See how many different kind of clocks I can find on the internet.

Here is the original task I was supposed to complete during my time here at Technology. It is my first time here in Ms Ferguson's class and I just found out what we are doing for this term. This term we are creating clocks for specific people, those who we choose. I came up with 12 different clocks, some that I already knews was the Analog Clock, Sundial, Hour Glass and Alarm Clock. I was surprised at the different kinds of clocks because I have never seen them before. Like the Atomic Clock, Binary Clock and Astronomical Clock.

Something that I enjoyed during this task was finding out different types of clocks.

My Technology Design Brief

IALT: Write down my Design Brief on what I'm going to create for myself.

Today in Technology I am in a different environment. Last week was the last session in our groups before we moved on to our different class. In Ms Ferguson's class we are creating clocks, I decided to make the clock for myself because I might not create something that is worth giving to someone. This is my Design Brief, I had to list down people that I would've done it for, pick one and write down 6 things they like and why are you designing it for them.

I'm looking forward to more session in Ms Ferguson's class. It is going to be a great time! Something I found challenging was picking reasons, I wasn't here last week so I had to catch up on the work. I enjoyed working in here with my peers!
