Pokemon Go Master
On KiwiKidsNews I came across a very interesting article! The article was about a Pokemon Go Master!
If you didn't realise many people around the world play this game. So the main target is to catch Pokemon in different areas. Sadly Pokemon hunting is banned in some countries. But in the United States a user called ftb_hodor has caught all the Pokemon available in U.S.A! He completed the North American Pokedex!
In this case it included a lot of walking! This involved a lot of walking. The New York City-based player revealed he walked 153.2km while hunting Pokémon, catching a total of 4,269 Pokémon and hatching 303 eggs along the way. Imagine walking 153.2km! It would be very tiring. I would like to Congrats ftb_hodor for his achievement!
WALT: Reflect on a article we have finished reading! So today for S.S.R I looked up a website called KiwiKidsNews! It holds many different articles about different things. But I cam across an article about a man who completed the North American Pokedex! A total of 4,269 Pokemon was caught in his 153.2km walk!

FireWise Session / Documentary
WALT: Reflect on our experiences we had in the past.
Today I will be talking about the visit from Firemen and a family whose house was demolished in a fire, a 3 year old child was lost...
On Friday we had the privilege of having some Firemen come to speak to our school about Fire Safety. The thing that caught my mind the most was that 1/3 of fires are caused by unattended cooking! I mean who would leave cooking unattended? The most amazing thing was that one of the men was named GARY!! I was shocked to find that I met another person Gary... Anyways back on track, Did you know that a fire can demolish a house in 3 minutes? 3 minutes? That is really fast! Also this morning my class and I watched a documentary of a family who survived a fire but losing a 3 year old boy in the accident. The fire was predicted to be caused by a cigarette which lit up several fireworks. The fireworks flew around the whole Garage area, along with a mother lying on top of a bed. 2 minutes after the fire started, Emergency Services were called. 3 women and 1 male managed to get out while 3 children were left in the house. Brave Firemen risked their life by walking back in the burning house. They recovered the 2 girls but the girls were severely burned. They continued to look for the 3 year old boy, but pronounced he was dead! The fire still haunts the heads of those involved. A new house has replaced the burnt out house. But the story behind that, will forever be told.....
So remember guys, if you are a in a situation involving a fire. Call Fire! Fire! Fire! Also practise and memorize the exit points of your house. Creating a Fire Safety Meeting Place will increase the safety of you and our families life...

Alaska Facts
WALT: Research facts about the U.S State Alaska.
For S.S.R we had to research facts about the U.S State Alaska.
Did you know that Alaska officially became the 49th state on January 3, 1959?
Wow, that was way back.
The highlight of this activity was having the time to find our new information about different countries, states and cities. I imagine me of travelling to Alaska to find out where and what the state is like? Do they have sled races? Do they protect endangered species of animals?

Office Area Expectations
WALT: Create a poster for the school to follow when walking around the office area.
Here is a DLO holding the expectations when walking around our school office area.
Make sure you walking in nice and with a nice attitude.
Running and shouting in our school office area is unacceptable.
The highlight of making this poster was that we got to capture images of our fellow peers Maui and Kiko. Thanks to them for having the time to help us!
