Kiwi Can Reflection

IALT: Write about what I learnt during Kiwi Can.

Yesterday for Kiwi Can, Mr Malu was absent again which was sad but at least we still had Kiwi Can. From revising what we had learnt from last week, to learning something new this week, I myself thought that this week was similar to last week. To be honest, Kiwi Can wasn't as fun and energising this week, and I think this because usually when we walk in the Kiwi Can leaders, always make up something that we laugh too, or are always enthusiastic to see us. But I don't blame Ms Lily because she was on her own, and she was still learning from her mistakes, and it's not east teaching a class you know little about.

Anyways, we are learning about Self Control and Emotions. Both are related, because well you have to control the way you feel under pressure. For example, getting persuaded by your friends to do the wrong thing, or just overreacting to something that you know nothing about! For me, I think a way I can control my emotions is doing my hobbies, I can enjoy doing what I love and forget about anything negative on my mind. 

I hope that next week, Mr Malu will return again. But this week wasn't as fun as I hoped it would be. I mean the games were fun but it seemed as if we were learning the same thing again. But I appreciate the work and hard effort Ms Lily does just for our school.

Reading Task W5T3

WALT: Come up with our own way to show or learning with or peers.

So this week for learning, my whole class read the same thing but with different learning intentions. This task required me to critically think about what I was reading, and what the purpose of this text was. The title of the article is "How to turn your hobby into your job" This basically talked about changing your hobby into your job and how easy it can be, if you put your mind into it dare to achieve. 

Some information that I thought was valuable to me, was when a sentence said that if you choose your job to be your hobby, it can be easy. The reason for this is because you are good at it, and you don't have to worry a lot about learning more. Also because you have personal connections, and experiences. 

Something challenging I found during this task, was picking up some key ideas from the article because it was long and it included a lot of things, but in the end I managed to complete the task to a high standard and include all the things required to make my work appropriate. 

I enjoyed reading about this because, I love to do my hobbies when I have time and I can include the things I've learnt into my daily life. Do you have a hobby? Leave a comment in the comment section below :)

Cinquain Poem

IALT: Create my own Cinquain poem to share with my audience.

This week, my class was working on Cinquain poems. This isn't a poem you write with long sentences, but a poem with it's own different format. The formation goes like this : 2, 4, 6, 8, 2. I know it's sounds funny and doesn't sound like it needs hard thinking, but to be honest this task challenged me to think hard! The subject I chose to do was about one of my Hobbies, Rugby. I love Rugby, so I decided to come up with my own Cinquain poem, listed above. 

I wasn't the only one in my class who decided to write a poem about Rugby, a few other boys in my class did the same thing as me too. But we wrote different lines. I didn't worry too much about us writing about the same thing because we are all different, therefore we think differently. I sometimes asked them for help, and they did too. So basically we just helped each other, showing our school value Manaakitanga.
