Denmark gets first wolf pack in 200 years

IALA:  A pair of wolves being spotted in Denmark in over 200 years!

Scientists in Denmark say that the country now has its first pack of wolves in more than 200 years. Wolves hadn't been seen in the country in two centuries until one was spotted in Jutland five years ago. Now, according to eye witnesses, there have been 2 wolves been spotted together moving as one in the region. Dr Peter Sunde of Aarhus University said it will only be a matter of time before they mate. They are expecting to have cubs this year or the next, if it were the former wolf that was spotted before she's probably in a den tending to young, as wolves tend to breed in Spring.
The fact that the pair have been spotted moving together, indicates that they have no pups, as the male would be hunting on it's own. Sadly the emergence of wolves in the country has become a cause for concern for farmers and animal breeders. Wolves have been known to stalk and kill anything that they think is prey.

In Feburary, there were appeals for action after a string of animal killings on sheep in West Jutland were blamed on predators. Last month six deer were killed at a deer park near a government approved "Wolf Zone" As the wolves begin to settle in on the land, does it mean the sheppards who care for the animals, give up? As a fierce predator can easily kill.

Wolves as some other animals hunt together, to make it easier to both catch and kill their prey. Their huge canines can easily crack through bones, making them a superb predator hunting in harsh condition. A challenge for me was writing more about this, as the article didn't give and wasn't specific enough.

Feel free to leave a comment,
Many Thanks :P
