Biggest SuperMoon On Way To NZ!

super-moon
The biggest brightest supermoon in 68 years is expected to pass by Earth on Monday November 14. Which is today! I will be hopefully watching outside my window tonight to see this spectacular sight. The supermoon today will be the closest full moon in almost 70 years! Yes Wow, that is a really long time. The bad thing is it won't happen again for another 80 years, which is 2034, and by then I will be about 20 years old. (Sorry for my calculations) Supermoons are the stuff of legends and gossip. They have been linked to everything from causing earthquakes! Could this be the reason why a major earthquake hit Wellington, New Zealand?

Tuesday (Today) would be the best for viewing as the moonrise would be after sunset.
Every four weeks the moon circles Earth, however the orbit is no where near circular. When the moon orbits Earth is goes around in a perfect circular shape. But the supermoon doesn't orbit circular around the Earth.

Three supermoons are due to shine over the Earth this year, 2 have already occured while another is set to be in December. The best place to see a supermoon is anywhere with a good view of the eastern horizon!
