Sudan the Last remaining Northern White Rhinoceros

I am learning to reflect on Sudan being the last Northern White Male Rhino.

Sudan is a captive Northern White Rhino who lives at OL Pejeta Conservancy in Laikipia, Kenya.
He is well known for being the last male of his kind in the world and one of only three living Northern White Rhino's in the world.

Sudan was born in Sudan (now South Sudan) on the 19th November, 1973. He was then shipped to Dvur Kralove Zoo for their Northern White Rhino display, In December 2009 he was them moved from Dvur Kralove Zoo to the OL Pejeta Conservancy for a "Last Chance To Survive" breeding program. He has sired only one other offspring besides Nabire and Najin, but Nabire died in July, 2015. Najin is still alive and  is living with Sudan.

Plans to get him to mate have been unsuccessful because his hind legs are growing weak and his sperm count is dropping low dramatically. They think he may never be able to reproduce again. Some people also think that he is out of the mating age, he is now at the age of 42-43 years.

Now that he is the last remaining Northern White Male Rhino he is put under 24/7 guard by men who risk their lives to save Sudan from poachers. People of the OL Pejeta Conservancy , think that he will die soon and that is reality.

Overall, I think this is a really sad story and my lowlight of this article is that he is the only remaining male Northern White Rhino left in the world. If he dies then the 2 remaining females will have their breed's survival on their shoulders. My highlight of his article is that Sudan is put under 24/7 guard by people who risk their lives in order for them to save another.

Many thanks!
