Make Shark Breaks World Record!

IALT: Write about a species of shark called the 'Mako Shark' and what one did in order for it to break a world record.

A new world record has been broken by a Mako Shark, the shark has been acknowledged of travelling over 20,900 km in under two years time! For me I think this is a weird record as I have never heard about sharks travelling this far in distance. Besides sharks, I have only heard about Whales and Dolphins travelling thousands of kilometres in search for food or a good place to raise their young. But a Mako Shark is certainly out of the blue.
The amazing discovery was made by scientist who was not named but says he is from Florida's Nova Southeastern University. They captured and tagged the shark creature before releasing it during May 2015, and have followed it all the way until now. The shark was tagged off the coast of Ocean City in Maryland USA, before heading off on it's spectacular journey which took him North along the eastern side of America.

Do you know some facts about this amazing and unique animal?

Well some facts about this species is;
  1. They are highly adapted and active open water sharks
  2. They are excellent swimmers, reaching high speeds of up to 35km/h with bursts over 80km/
  3. They grow twice as faster than that of any other types of sharks
  4. They usually grow to be around four metres long and weigh over 500 kilograms!
What are my thought's on this article???

Well once again I have never heard about a shark travelling such a distance. I once heard that sharks are an important role of the ecosystem and without sharks the ecosystem will be unbalanced. With more and more sharks being targeted the number of these amazing animals are getting their fins chopped off in order for us people to eat. Like shark-fin soup.

I think people should stop and think for a minute and look into the future and ask themselves, if there weren't any sharks would the world still be the same?
I get why people are terrified of these creatures, but the explanation behind this is that sharks have very poor eyesight but a accurate sense of smell having the ability to smell blood over 3 kilometres away.

This is a very interesting article and I hope that people can read some of these articles and find out what some people are trying to do to prevent people from killing the entire range of sharks around the globe.
