IALT: Write about what I learnt after reading an article about 2017 NBA Champions Golden State Warriors.
According to this article it is American Tradition. Your team wins the big championship and you get to visit the White House. Reports have said that Golden State Warriors have little interest of visiting Donald Trump after securing the title yesterday. The Warriors managed to claim their 2nd title in three years after beating Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 in the best of the 7 game series. They beat the Cavs 120-129 and then the team released a statement "Today is all about the championship" They have not received an invitation to the White House but it is very unlikely they will accept the oppurtunity.
However, American radio host Dan Dibley told Radio Sport Breakfast that he is certain the team won't visit president Trump "There's no way that the Warriors are going to see 45 [Donald Trump]. The things that he has done already in his presidency have not gone done well with a lot of the members of the Golden State Warriors," the 95.7 The Game Breakfast host said.
Stephen Curry and head coach Steph Kerr have also spoken openly about their dislike of Trump during the season. The New England Patriots visited Trump in April after they won the Super Bowl, but more then 20 players skipped the trip including quarterback MVP Tom Brady.
During my time reading this article I learnt that the Warriors don't want to visit Donald Trump after his actions are against the wishes of most of the Warrior players. I also learnt that the New England Patriots visited Trump in April after they won the Super Bowl. But most of them missed out on the trip, when Barack Obama was President 50 of them went, but this year most of them missed out.
