12 Year Old Lost Wallet

IALA: a man who found a lost wallet during the Lions last tour here in New Zealand in 2005.

A man who found a lost wallet on the floor of Eden park containing cask and a treasured photo 12 years ago is on a quest to find it's rightful owner. UK man Mark Edwards was travelling to New Zealand in 2005 to watch the British and Irish Lions tour at Eden Park in Auckland and when he saw the wallet on the ground and popped it into his jacket pocket, planning to hand it over to the police. But Mr Edwards forgot about it and only discovered the wallet when he dusted off his Lions Jacket and putting it on over a decade after he last wore it.

'I put [the jacket] on and thought what the hell's that? And then I remembered,' he said.
The rugby fan will be back for this year's tour and intends on tracking down the owner of the wallet, Laurie Edward Cooper, who he hopes to have a drink with too. Inside the wallet it still contains $45 in cash, bank cards, Mr Cooper's UK driver's license, a to-do list and a Lotto lucky dip. The biggest clue however to finding the mysterious owner is a photograph of a man and women dressed in formal wear that was found tucked in.

The appearance of the wallet is has a Versace logo inside and a tiny lion logo on the front. The Good Samaritan says he has tried to find a Laurie Edwards Cooper online but he has had no luck so far. Mr Edwards will be staying in New Zealand until tomorrow and he wants to ' go for a beer' with the man who dropped his wallet 12 years ago.

What do I think of this article?

Well, I actually read this in a newspaper article therefore it took me by storm that the man who found this wallet over a decade ago still has it and wants to find it's rightful owner. Mr Edwards seems to be a good man with a kind heart, I can imagine a person taking the wallet and taking the things inside. It's sad to hear he forgot to hand it over to the police but he still knows that the wallet isn't his therefore he has no right to do anything with the things inside it.

If you found a lost wallet what would you do with it? Do the right thing? Or the wrong thing?

Feel free to leave a comment.

Many thanks :)
